Guess who finally uploaded a post!
Firstly, sorry to anyone who looked forward to my blog posts :( As my blog is not very popular I didn't really take it seriously, I used it more as a hobby and as a way to relieve stress. I took an unplanned and unexpected break due to my personal life, but I started to really miss posting on my blog and lately I've been really inspired to start writing again :)
So here's my first post back; a makeup haul! Hope you enjoy :)
A couple of days ago the Heat Group had a warehouse sale which they do a couple of times during the year and this time they had some reallyyy good bargains and everything I bought (Bourjois, Covergirl and Essence) was cruelty free!
First I stocked up on my foundation that I use. This foundation is the Bourjois flower perfection, I usually use shade light beige #53 so I got four of those and one in beige #54 for when I am tanned. I usually mix this with a BB cream for everyday wear because it is a med-full coverage. These were only $5 each! Considering I usually have to go into the city and pay $12 a bottle I decided to stock up. This foundation lasts all night and covers my imperfections really well.
I also got a Covergirl foundation as they were only $6 and I have heard really good things about this foundation so I wanted to try it in case I'm not able to get the Bourjois foundation at some point, I can just go to the supermarket or Priceline and pick this one up and I like trying new and different makeup products. It is the outlast stay fabulous in 810.
Also from Covergirl I picked up a smoochies in the darkest colour. I use the one have at the moment all the time. It's great for keeping your lips moisturized and adding colour at the same time. It doesn't stain or leave a ring on your lips when it fades. It was only $3 or $4.
I got 5 lipsticks, 4 being Bourjois for $5 each. Yep, like an 8th of the retail price in Priceline. The only downside was they only had one or two shades of each type of lipstick but I'm not complaining at all! haha I got two shine editions #24 and #22, one rouge edition #32 and a rouge edition velvet #01
Bourjois lipstick swatches:
(top to bottom)
Rouge edition velvet #01: a red lip cream that dries matte and stains lips
Rouge edition #32: a pink semi matte lipstick
Shine edition #22: a sheer reddish pink lipstick
Shine edition #24: a sheer pink lipstick (a MLBB)
I also got one Bourjois blush in a dark red (not dark on my face, actually blends really well!) and a beautiful holographic shimmer highlighter both $5 each. They both look really nice on the skin and apply really well.
I've been wanting to try this liquid eyeliner for a while now so I'm glad I finally was able to get it and for $5! I have been able to do the thinnest winged eyeliner with this brush, it looked so nice! Usually I use a felt tip eyeliner so the winged eyeliner turns out a little thick. The only problem I have with this is you may need to go over your line with a second coat, but it did stay all night and didn't smudge with my oily eyelids! I will definitely be repurchasing this eyeliner again if it is available next time.
This Bourjois felt tip eyeliner in black was also $5 but unfortunately I don't think I'll be buying it again.. It's not very pigmented at all so I found I needed to go over the line I made a few times and after a 8 hour shift at work it smudged a little and the felt tip was quite thick :(
This Bourjois mascara was a repurchase for $5 also. I'm using this mascara at the moment and I love it. It's a curved wand, applies well and lasts all day without smudging for me. Not to mention the cute pink and black packaging!
I also got an Essence lipstick for $2 in 08 Colour Crush but I was too excited about the $5 lipsticks that I completely forgot to take a photo and swatch it!
Hope you enjoyed my first post back and I'm looking forward to writing more in the very near future!
- Beth :)
