Designer Brands (DB) Longwear 24 Hour Foundation Review

In my previous post I mentioned I bought a new foundation from Designer Brands and this is my review :)

Colour: True Beige 651 (may be a little darker than I need but blends in well)
Price: $12.99
Where to buy: most chemists in Aus
Packaging: It is a square frosted glass bottle with a black lid and has a pump (yayyy!)
Formula: The formula is quite thin compared to another full coverage foundation I have been using but at the same time, gives great coverage. I have a lot of redness in the skin on my face and it covers all of it.
Application: I just pump a little bit at a time onto my finger tips, dab some on my forehead, chin and cheeks blend out and then add more until I'm happy with the coverage. I have been happy with doing 1.5 layers of the foundation and then setting it with my fresh and flawless powder.
Wearability: I wore this for the first to TAFE on Monday and it lasted well throughout the day, but my face oxidizes SO easily so it did start to oxidize a little bit, but lasted longer than my regular foundation. It also started to crease under my eyes, but I'm not 100% sure if that was from the foundation or my concealer, considering I don't set my concealer like I probably should.. haha

At the start of the day before I left:
(Looks flawless! I also used their Extend A Brow in these photos)

During the day:
(you can see as it has oxidized and my redness is showing through a little bit and there is a crease under my eye. Also apologies for the mannequin hair on my face lol :P

Overall: I really like it. Will definitely be repurchasing!

Designer Brands (DB) Haul, Swatches & Mini Reviews

Sunday night after bball I decided it was time to change my nail polish, but as I have SNS I  needed pure acetone, so I went to a chemist in my area that was open late and decided to have a look at the makeup they were selling as well. I came across the DB stand and I had a look remembering a review I had seen on You Tube saying it was a decent brand and reasonably priced. I'd never bought any DB products before as I usually buy my makeup at Priceline and I always thought they were a cheapo brand, but between the deal they had on and the good review I had seen, I decided to try them out. (It also helped that mum wanted to buy something as well.. haha)

Soo this is what I got:

As you can see I got a box of goodies! Between mum and I we spent over $25 and decided to grab the bonus gift box.

So this is what we bought to be able to get the free gift!

Blur Skin Perfector

Mum has been using this the past couple of days and she says that it has been helping keep her makeup on, she usually uses nanoblur as a primer so that says something!

Extend A Brow - Light/Medium

This one was also mum's purchase, but I used it the other day to try it out and it's pretty good, The applicator is like a lip gloss, which is handy but hard to apply as it is too wide for the thin part of my eyebrow  and it is also rounded. As for the actual product I really like it! It's little dry fibres that stick to the brow hairs. I also recommend you use a cotton tip to clean up around the edges if you use this.

Longwear 24 Hour Foundation - True Beige 651

I have been using this foundation the past couple of days now and I've been pretty impressed! Read my full review here,

The Bonus Gifts

(Swatches below individual pics)

Instant Face Bronzer

I haven't used this yet as I haven't been tanning due to the cold weather, but I've swatched it on my arm and I'm excited to use it. It looks pretty dark and thick when you first put it on but blends out really well. I'd also love to try it as a cream bronzer/contour more than an all over face bronzer .. although I'm not sure how my oily skin will cope, especially when it is warmer.

Glitter Liquid Eyeliner

I haven't used this yet, but it looks so pretty! And it was really hard to rub off my hand, so I look forward to using it

Lipstick - Party Pink

I used this the other day and it was a really nice darkish pink, it did transfer when I ate and drank but faded nicely

Nail Polish - Opal Purple

Not a big fan of this colour and considering I don't use normal nail polish anymore, I think I'm going to give this one away.

Gold Eyeliner Pencil

This eyeliner is a very warm gold so it's probably not something I'll use very often but always good to have in my collection.

Swatches

Glitter Eyeliner

Gold Pencil Eyeliner

Lipstick

Bronzing Cream

I definitely think the free gift box is worth it and so far from what  I've tried I've been impressed with the products that I've bought and got for free! Will definitely be trying some more :)

Heat Group Warehouse Sale Haul (with first impressions)

Guess who finally uploaded a post!
Firstly, sorry to anyone who looked forward to my blog posts :( As my blog is not very popular I didn't really take it seriously, I used it more as a hobby and as a way to relieve stress. I took an unplanned and unexpected break due to my personal life, but I started to really miss posting on my blog and lately I've been really inspired to start writing again :)

So here's my first post back; a makeup haul! Hope you enjoy :)

A couple of days ago the Heat Group had a warehouse sale which they do a couple of times during the year and this time they had some reallyyy good bargains and everything I bought (Bourjois, Covergirl and  Essence) was cruelty free!

First I stocked up on my foundation that I use. This foundation is the Bourjois flower perfection, I usually use shade light beige #53 so I  got four of those and one in beige #54 for when I am tanned. I usually mix this with a BB cream for everyday wear because it is a med-full coverage. These were only $5 each! Considering I usually have to go into the city and pay $12 a bottle I decided to stock up. This foundation lasts all night and covers my imperfections really well.

I also got a Covergirl foundation as they were only $6 and I have heard really good things about this foundation so I wanted to try it in case I'm not able to get the Bourjois foundation at some point, I can just go to the supermarket or Priceline and pick this one up and I like trying new and different makeup products. It is the outlast stay fabulous in 810.

Also from Covergirl I picked up a smoochies in the darkest colour. I use the one have at the moment all the time. It's great for keeping your lips moisturized and adding colour at the same time. It doesn't stain or leave a ring on your lips when it fades. It was only $3 or $4.

I got 5 lipsticks, 4 being Bourjois for $5 each. Yep, like an 8th of the retail price in Priceline. The only downside was they only had one or two shades of each type of lipstick but I'm not complaining at all! haha I got two shine editions #24 and #22, one rouge edition #32 and a rouge edition velvet #01

Bourjois lipstick swatches:
(top to bottom)
Rouge edition velvet #01: a red lip cream that dries matte and stains lips
Rouge edition #32: a pink semi matte lipstick
Shine edition #22: a sheer reddish pink lipstick
Shine edition #24: a sheer pink lipstick (a MLBB)

I also got one Bourjois blush in a dark red (not dark on my face, actually blends really well!) and a beautiful holographic shimmer highlighter both $5 each. They both look really nice on the skin and apply really well.

I've been wanting to try this liquid eyeliner for a while now so I'm glad I finally was able to get it and for $5! I have been able to do the thinnest winged eyeliner with this brush, it looked so nice! Usually I use a felt tip eyeliner so the winged eyeliner turns out a little thick. The only problem I have with this is you may need to go over your line with a second coat, but it did stay all night and didn't smudge with my oily eyelids! I will definitely be repurchasing this eyeliner again if it is available next time.

This Bourjois felt tip eyeliner in black was also $5 but unfortunately I don't think I'll be buying it again.. It's not very pigmented at all so I found I  needed to go over the line I made a few times and after a 8 hour shift at work it smudged a little and the felt tip was quite thick :(

This Bourjois mascara was a repurchase for $5 also. I'm using this mascara at the moment and I love it. It's a curved wand, applies well and lasts all day without smudging for me. Not to mention the cute pink and black packaging!

I also got an Essence lipstick for $2 in 08 Colour Crush but I was too excited about the $5 lipsticks that I completely forgot to take a photo and swatch it!

Hope you enjoyed my first post back and I'm looking forward to writing more in the very near future!
